  • Blackpink's Jennie Files Criminal Lawsuit Against Imposter Claiming To Be Her Father! We have all the details!

Blackpink's Jennie has made the headlines again, this time for filing a criminal lawsuit against an imposter who has been claiming to be her father. Read on for more details! Jennie has been in the headlines a lot recently, however this time it has not been for a new debut or for an outfit trend . The reason the star has been in the headlines is due to an imposter who has been claiming to be her dad. It sounds messed up, and of course this speculation arouse when some publications of a book claimed that the author of the book was her biological father. Jennie following this, refuted these claims and said that there was no link between the author (Jin) and herself. I believe that people these days are so hungry for fame, that of course lies will be made up, however with the internet and easy accessibility to information I do not understand why someone would make up this claim about someone with such a high global profile. The K-pop stars label were also quick to respond to these claims, stating that they plan to address the illegal issues around the claims, and quote: "We are pursuing legal action by filing a criminal complaint for defamation and obstruction of business caused by the spread of false information through the law firm." I also agree with this, as publishing false information can lead to complications with the stars work and public image. Of course, this all began when a Korean Media outlet reported that PD Kim Hyung Jin is the father of a K-pop star and that he planned to release a long form novel about the star and her life, but this could not be verified, and with good reason. I am sure that the star would comment on this book if it were true information, so the book should be published as a fiction book due to the baseless claims. Let's take a closer look: JTBC recently announced that the Blackpink star would be making a guest appearance on My Name is Gabriel. The rapper will be transforming into Maria, the owner of the Italian farmhouse bed and breakfast, for the variety show. Jennie's episodes are scheduled to air on September 27 and October 4, this is something that I cannot wait for, as I hope to see more of the real Jennie, and also I hope to find out some more information related to her new album, signing with Columbia Records and also these claims. What do you think about the claims that have been made? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. #BLACKPINK #jennie #ColumbiaRecords

  • LINKIN PARK: From Zero World Tour is coming to Korea! Here are all the details!

LINKIN PARK: From Zero World Tour is coming to Korea, and we simply cannot wait. Let's take a look at their new singer and all the details for this highly-anticipated concert! Linkin Park is hitting the road on their highly anticipated From Zero World Tour , and fans in Seoul are in for a treat! The band will bring their dynamic live show to the Insoire Arena on September 28, 2024 . This exciting performance is part of their global tour that includes stops in major cities worldwide. Will you be attending this long awaited tour? When I was younger I loved listening to Linkin Park, especially after Chester Charles Bennington died of suicide in 2017. If you did not already know, Chester was an American singer who was the lead vocalist of the rock band Linkin Park, and for me I could really feel the emotion behind his vocals during his performances. Chester for me, is the face of this iconic band. Since then the band rightly so took a break, and 2024 will see the return of the band, this time with new lead vocalist Emily Armstrong . I have to say that her vocal talent is great, and I really like her punk rock style performances, as they remind me of my child hood. Also, compared to K-pop music these days, the genre that Linkin Park perform is refreshing, and with the chance to watch such an iconic band perform in Korea later this month will be amazing. Reports made by former Scientologists Liz Gale and Aaron Smith Levin have stated that Armstrong was born and raised in Scientology. This is also interesting as the church of Scientology, have been a very secret organization although other famous faces such as Tom Cruise are publicly a member of. According to Gale on TikTok via her personal account while confirming Armstrong being raised in the church, she also added that Armstrong's parents specifically worked in the Office of Special Affairs, with Armstrong's mother reportedly working as editor of Scientology's Freedom magazine. Should this really matter? Would there be a much interest in her belief if she had a different religion? Let's check out this exciting new promo! For tickets click the link below. Ticket sales start September 13th 2024, so don't miss your chance: https://www.livenation.kr/show/1514900/linkin-park-from-zero-world-tour/seoul/2024-09-28/en Their live stream: They are the only band to feature in Spotify's top 10 most-streamed albums of all time, with their greatest hits collection Papercuts attracting more than 9m streams per day. I definitely will be trying to get some tickets. My worry is that as the lead singer has changed, will the band be the same as before? Or will they flop? Let us know if you will be attending in the comments below. #LinkinPark #FromZero #WorldTour #ChesterBennington #EmilyArmstrong

The All India K-pop Contest 2024 Delhi regional round was hosted by the Korean Cultural Centre India (KCCI) and the Korean Culture India Fanclub on August 18, 2024. The Korean Culture India Fanclub organized the Delhi regionals of the K-pop Contest 2024 at the Aiwan-e-Ghalib Auditorium in partnership with LG and Hallyuism . The contest is known for strengthening diplomatic ties between Korea and India, with a major focus on finding talent that will represent the country in Korea later, after the final stage of the contest. This year, with an abundance of talent, a total of 23 teams—11 in the dance category and 12 in the vocal category—participated in the Delhi K-pop Contest. The contest takes place every year in India over a period of about six months, with four rounds categorized as online, regional, semi-final, and grand finale. The contest met the high expectations of the audience this year, as it blended K-pop, Korean music, random K-pop dance by fans, flawless choreography, and even performers’ unique outfits made from scratch, showcasing the enthusiasm of the participants and emphasizing the authenticity of K-pop culture. The online round saw huge participation, with 2,945 teams. The participants who qualified in the preliminary online round made it to the regional round across 11 cities in India. Due to pandemic restrictions, the contest had been held online for the past few years until 2022, but the 2023 edition marked the first offline K-pop contest after COVID-19, followed by the 2024 edition. The contest winners will advance to the semi-finals on October 19th in New Delhi. Dojeon Media's Kumari Khushboo had deeper conversations with the judges and performers at the most-awaited All India K-pop Contest 2024 Delhi regional round. All India K-pop Contest 2024 Delhi Regional Round: Catch a Glimpse of the Most Popular K-pop Event in India as It Enchants Indian Fans with Euphoric Performances The 2024 K-pop Contest Delhi Edition has been organized under the guidance of Prerna Tiwari, the founder of Hallyuism and the Korean Culture India Fan Club . The K-pop Contest this year saw some of the most incredible performances as the judges, special performers, and participants graced the stage. One of the most commendable aspects of the event that was highly praised among the audience was its organization. This year, everything from ticket booking via online registration, seating arrangements, backstage management, stage lighting, background music video, and sound settings to outfits equivalent to the K-pop idols’ styling made from scratch contributed to a seamless experience for the audience. While entering the venue, one could listen to K-pop songs on the LG karaoke system outside the auditorium. Fans were seen taking pictures at the LG photo booth and recording videos of themselves singing or dancing on karaoke while “BBoom Bboom” by Momoland played. On the other side, some participants were practicing their dance moves, and vocalists were checking if their voices were still warmed up (just a last check, which is not usually done). The performers had their own cheerleaders in the form of family and friends encouraging them to do their best. The Delhi K-pop Contest organizers also made sure to entertain the fans from the start by playing several K-pop music videos on the stage background. Fans were elated to watch their beloved K-pop stars on the big screen. The music videos included stars such as LE SSERAFIM , IVE , JEON SOMI , BTS , EXO , BLACKPINK , NewJeans , and (G)I-DLE . The All India K-pop Contest 2024 Delhi Edition kicked off with a charismatic dance performance by Urvi. The Delhi K-pop Contest also featured judges who were the winners of the previous year’s contest in the vocal and dance categories. Some of the judges also performed K-pop songs and OSTs. This included the K-drama Descendants of the Sun’ s OST “This Love” by Davichi. The judges included Ms. Prachi Sharma and Ms. Jincy Jacob in the vocal category, and Ms. Rachna Bhagat and Mr. Sushil Chhetri from LOKALZ CREW in the dance category. The judges' panel for the vocal and dance categories also included Ms. Yujeong Jang, Head of Events & Performances at the Korean Culture Centre India, The Embassy of the Republic of Korea. Before starting the contest, the judges were invited on stage to share a message with the contestants. The judges not only cheered the contestants but also rooted for them and encouraged the audience to cheer for every participant. The Delhi K-pop Contest then began with impeccable performances by vocalists, soloists, and dance crews, all performing to some of the fans’ most favorite Korean songs. The event featured OUTKASTS performing NMIXX’s “O.O”. Bem Khuvung sang Jung Seung Hwan’s “If It Is You”, Girl Crush performed TWICE ’s “MORE & MORE”, and 3 Plus 4 Crew performed “Get A Guitar” by Riize . In the vocal category, Victor sang “I Miss You” by Kim Bum Soo, and Khushi sang “Goodbye My Love” by Ailee. There were also other tracks performed by contestants, including “Love Wins All” by IU, “FEARLESS” and “Eve, Psyche & the Bluebeard’s Wife” by LE SSERAFIM , “Bite Me” by ENHYPEN, “I Will Go to You Like the First Snow” by Ailee, “U R” by Taeyeon, “Dinosaur” by AKMU , “LALALALA” by Stray Kids , and “The Eve” by EXO. The event was impressively hosted by Ms. Khushi Yadav and Ms. Mehak. The hosts even got the audience to play fun K-pop-related games while the judges decided the winners. The event concluded with the much-anticipated announcement of the contest's Delhi round winners. All India K-pop Contest 2024 Delhi Regional Round winners in the vocal category were: Bem Khuvung (First Position) Victor (1st Runner-Up) Khushi (2nd Runner-Up) The winners in the dance category were: OUTKASTS (First Position) Girl Crush (1st Runner-Up) 3 Plus 4 Crew (2nd Runner-Up) It must have been one of the hardest decisions for the judges to select only three position holders in each category, as the competition was fierce and commendable. But it's needless to say that each performer gained fans that day and, moreover, an accomplishment of performing on one of the most prestigious stages. Meanwhile, fans are looking forward to the semi-finals and the final round of the K-pop Contest India 2024 in Delhi. On October 18-19, the Korean Culture Centre India will host the Rang De Korea Festival & Semi-Final Round of All India K-pop Contest 2024 at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Auditorium, Delhi, where the K-pop group NTX will grace the stage and make this moment even more worthwhile for fans. A conversation unveiling experiences, challenges, and hope for K-pop in India: The Delhi K-pop Contest 2024 through the lens of performers Dojeon Media's Kumari Khushboo also got an opportunity to speak with the judges and performers of the All India K-pop Contest 2024, Delhi Edition. As the performers left the audience wanting more after their immaculate performances, we bring the conversations that led to unveiling the thoughts and experiences at the contest, and later we will also delve into the rise of Korean culture in India. We spoke to two of the contest's judges for the dance category, Ms. Rachna Bhagat and Mr. Sushil Chhetri from LOKALZ CREW, about their experience at the event. Ms. Rachna Bhagat was also a judge for the contest's Delhi round for the past 4 years. As a winner of the Delhi K-pop Contest previously, the judges shared their thoughts on the event and performers. "Hi everyone, this is LOKALZ CREW. It was a great opportunity for us to be part of the panel again this year for the Delhi regional K-pop Contest 2024. As Sushil and I, Rachna, were both part of the judging panel specifically for the dance category, we were very excited and amazed to see the brilliant and excellent execution of both dance and singing by the participants. Especially for the dance category, we were very excited to see the performances from the participants this year,” the judges shared. “It was really tough competition, as many amazing teams were also part of this event. We would like to thank the Korean Culture India Fan Club, LG, and KCCI for organizing such an amazing event for the audience and the participants so that they could come together as one and be amazing with their performances. So, all the best to everyone for the semifinals and finals," the judges added. One of the most loved girl groups, OUTKASTS, also shared their experience upon securing a winning position at the contest. “Performing NMIXX’s “O.O” was an emotional rollercoaster for us. The choreography was more challenging than anything we’d done before, and though we practiced tirelessly, we came with the mindset to give our best and let the outcome be what it may. As we sat there, hand in hand, our hearts racing, the anticipation was overwhelming. When the audience began chanting our name, all our nerves vanished—hearing our name announced was already a victory. Winning felt like the ultimate validation of our journey. Competing with such amazing teams was an honor, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds,” shared OUTKASTS. The K-pop dance crew Girl Crush also enlightened us with their experience after securing the 1st runner-up position in the contest. “Thank you so much for showing interest in our group and our performance. The competition in the Delhi Regional Round becomes more intense each year, and this time was no exception—it was truly remarkable to witness the level of talent we faced. While our ultimate goal was to secure first place, we are deeply grateful for what we achieved as a group amidst such outstanding and gifted participants,” said Girl Crush. “We worked tirelessly day and night to prepare for this competition, from practicing together in parks to struggling to create the perfect outfits from scratch and just overall preparing for the best quality performance. The enthusiastic cheers and unwavering support from the crowd infused us with even more energy, making the experience all the more enjoyable,” stated the girl group. Bem Khuvung, the winner of the K-pop Contest Delhi round in the vocal category, who gave an extremely soothing performance and is already gearing up for the semifinals, stated, “It was a thrilling experience. Everyone was so talented, and I had so much fun. I was pretty nervous before my performance, but as I moved to the stage, I told myself why I’m doing this. Beyond anything, the most important thing is my love for singing and how it has given me a bigger sense of purpose in life. I’m looking forward to singing in the semifinals!” said Bem. The 3 Plus 4 Crew, who enchanted the audience with their flawless performance and successfully secured the 2nd runner-up position in the dance category, shared, “Winning the All India K-Pop Championships in 2016 and representing India in South Korea made the decision to participate this year a no-brainer. The level of competition has risen tremendously, which only shows that K-pop is on a steady rise. This year was filled with surprises for us as a team in more ways than one. We hope to clinch the title again next year,” the crew stated. A participant, Unnati Singh Bilwal, who also secured winning positions in the past few years, spoke in a candid conversation about her experience and her future endeavors for the contest. “The contest this time was very fun and organized. I had an amazing day. Even though I didn't win anything, everything else was so amazing. The setup, the energetic performances, the cheerful audience—everything was so mind-blowing. This year I participated as a contestant and sang ‘U R’ by Taeyeon. Though I was very nervous, I gave it my all. And I made so many new friends and met some old ones as well. It was a great and positive day. I hope to get a chance again next year. Lastly, congratulations and best of luck to the winners,” said Unnati. Is India the Next Hub for the Korean Wave? The artists won the hearts of fans as they performed in India, featuring GOT7 's Jackson Wang, Eric Nam, BLACKSWAN , X:IN, GreatGuys, ABLUE, Stray Kids' former member Kim Woojin, Kang Daniel, among others. The artist was also one of the lead actors in the first Indo-Korean drama Landed in Korea , also starring Korean actors Jin Geon, Kim Jeong Seok, Lee Dong Wook, and Indian female lead actress Seetha. There were also many K-pop boot camps organized for training aspiring K-pop idols from India. One such K-pop boot camp was held in Delhi by Instructor Subak Lee from 1 Million Dance Studio. The turnout was huge in the paid bootcamps, considering it's still the beginning of K-pop idols being scouted from India. Indian fans recognize the value of such bootcamps and are willing to spend on world-class instructors. • Are young Koreans falling out of love with Jeju Island? We find out!

Are young Koreans falling out of love with Jeju Island ? This is the question that many people are asking after a dramatic fall in visitor numbers this summer. Let's find out why this is the case! The summer of 2024 has seen a big drop in tourist numbers heading to the Korean Island of Jeju. There are several reasons for this, however in my opinion a big factor is that the Japanese Yen has fallen, which makes it more attractive for Koreans to travel to Japan than Jeju, since the cost of living is significantly cheaper in Japan at the moment. This has however impacted many of Jeju's hotels, bars and restaurants forcing them to close or put their prices up, which in turn, puts people off of going to those establishments. In turn, this has had a devastating effect on the economy. This is not the first time Jeju has experienced a drop in numbers, as COVID-19 suspended all but essential travel, though local governments were hoping to get back to pre-pandemic numbers. For me, I have to say that although the island is beautiful and the beaches are stunning, the prices sadly are expensive. I have been to the island a couple of times, and I was imagining that it would be like Tenerife or Lanzarote, however, the nighlife was non-existent and you needed a car to drive around the island with little to no public transportation. There has been a surge in the number of foreign visitors to Jeju. But they tend to stay at big hotels, many of which have business deals with travel agencies that bring them to the island through their package programs therefore staying in the resort means little to no time or desire to spend money in local businesses. For young Koreans, the ability and appeal to travel to a foreign country outside of Korea, to experience a new culture and customs is more desirable. The flights though more expensive than going to Jeju, are a competitive price and once at the destination the living cost and hotel costs are cheaper. I have also looked at heading to Jeju this year and the drawback for me along with many young Koreans is the living cost is higher in Jeju than in mainland Korea. In addition, the amount of low-cost flights to international destinations are more appealing in comparison. For overseas visitors, Jeju does offer visa-free travel for many countries, which otherwise require a visa before traveling to the mainland such as India, so it still offers an attractive place to visit with fewer restrictions and at the same time still being able to offer an authentic Korean experience. Jeju does still hold a charm for Koreans, and as it's known as the "Hawaii of Asia", it offers are unforgettable getaway. You will notice in my other article about ( Hamdeok Beach ) the pristine waters and special places to visit. Not to mention the more tropical temperatures and the vast amount of oranges that are on offer there and the famous delicious black pork! Will the drop in tourism numbers continue? Or will they bounce back? Let us know your thoughts on why Jeju is becoming less popular with young Koreans in the comments below . #youngadults #Jeju #travel #asia #traveldestination #Yeji #itzy

  • Here's what to expect from "Queen Woo" Part 2: Real events, controversies, and more!

TVING's hit series Queen Woo has been praised for its historical accuracy causing much discussion and popularity with K-drama fans! We explore the real-life events and historical nuances of this must-watch series! Queen Woo  is set in the Goguryeo dynasty (37 BC- 668 AD) and features Jeon Jong Seo ( Wedding Impossible 2024) as the resilient Queen Woo, Ji Chang Wook ( The Worst of Evil 2023) as King Gogukcheon, and Lee Soo Hyuk ( Tomorrow 2022) as the ambitious Bal Gi. The series begins with the sudden death of King Gogukcheon, plunging the monarchy into chaos over succession. Queen Woo must secure a new king within 24 hours by choosing one of King Gogukcheon's brothers or another suitable candidate from rival tribes. With her sharp political instincts, she faces intense pressure to maintain her power and authority in a patriarchal society. The show captures Queen Woo's unconventional journey to becoming the first queen to remarry twice, reflecting the ancient Goguryeo practice of levirate marriage. Her decision sets her apart as a trailblazing figure who defied societal norms to preserve her influence. Amid political corruption and looming threats, Queen Woo faces Balgi, a power-hungry contender determined to claim the throne. The series promises an engaging mix of historical intrigue and personal sacrifice as tensions rise. Real-Life History Behind Queen Woo The drama Queen Woo  offers a vivid portrayal of the power dynamics and struggles during the Goguryeo era, inspired by real historical events. Queen Woo Hee, a significant figure from this time, is depicted battling against a male-dominated monarchy, showcasing the real-life obstacles she faced. Her story stands out as one of the few historical accounts of a woman's independent fight for survival and influence in Korea's ancient history. King Gogukcheon, based on historical records, was the second son of King Sindae, Goguryeo's eighth monarch. There was an intense rivalry between Gogukcheon and his elder brother, Go Bal Gi, for the throne. After King Gogukcheon’s sudden death in 197 AD, Bal Gi sought to claim the crown, igniting a power struggle, as depicted in the drama and historical accounts. Queen Woo’s real-life role as the first woman in Goguryeo to remarry of her own will is remarkable. She exercised her agency by marrying her deceased husband’s younger brother, King Sansang, as part of the levirate marriage custom, where a widow marries her brother-in-law. This reflects historical records of her influence and resilience, securing her place in Korean history as a formidable and independent queen. Controversies Surrounding the K-drama The historical K-drama Queen Woo  has sparked significant controversy for allegedly distorting historical facts and using culturally inappropriate costumes. Critics argue that the drama's portrayal of Goguryeo-era figures and settings diverges from historical accuracy, particularly in its costumes, which some viewers claim are more aligned with Chinese styles than Korean traditions. This has led to backlash from Korean netizens, who have expressed frustration, especially in light of recent cultural tensions between Korea and China, notably over the origins of cultural items like kimchi and hanbok. The director of Queen Woo  has defended the production, stating that they conducted thorough research using historical records and worked closely with costume designers to ensure authenticity. Despite these efforts, the drama continues to face criticism, with some Chinese netizens mocking the series for allegedly borrowing Chinese cultural elements. Queen Woo  has faced criticism for featuring explicit scenes that fans feel are out of place in a historical drama. While Korean dramas generally steer away from erotic content, such scenes are sometimes included to deepen the storyline. However, in Queen Woo , viewers are particularly upset about seeing their favorite actors involved in these scenes, which they feel detract from the historical integrity of the show. As the second part is set to release on September 12 , viewers are eager to see how the story continues. Will it address the concerns or further fuel debate? What do you think about the drama’s artistic choices? Share your thoughts on the upcoming episodes!

  • Korean fans angered as Oasis reunion tickets reach 10 million won ($7,470)!

With the Oasis world tour hitting the world stage, Korean fans were angered as Oasis reunion tickets reached 10 million won (USD 7,470) due to Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing structure. We dive into the details! Recently tickets for the long-awaited Oasis world tour were on sale in the UK, and many of my friends tried to purchase tickets, however, with the online ticket sale systems, all of them couldn't get tickets. In addition to the ticket queues that were expected, Ticketmaster also introduced a dynamic ticket system. This meant as there is more demand for tickets, the more expensive they will cost. To me this seems like a way to get more money, as a band such as Oasis has not reunited or toured for years. Tickets for the London Wembley concert reached as high as 6,000 pounds (about 10 million won) on resale platforms. Will this happen in Korea? Fans are worried, that due to the dynamic pricing, some tickets have reached up to 10 million won (£6,000) in the UK for some tickets. Does this mean that the average fan will not be able to afford such prices? What do you think? Would you continue with the ticket purchase? To me, it seems crazy, since that cost is enough to buy a nice holiday. The reunion tour comes after 15 years of resolving their feud, the Gallagher brothers' reunion as Oasis has electrified fans worldwide, especially among those in their 20s and 30s. While Oasis is often categorized as "Dad Rock" (classic rock listened to primarily by middle-aged men) overseas, they are significantly popular among young people in Korea. Due to Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing model, which raises prices based on demand, even seats far from the stage soared to around 1 million won ($750) in the UK. Let's take a look at this video which explains more about the pricing structure! The Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, are also known for their honest, rough, and controversial remarks and frequent sibling quarrels, which have made them intriguing to fans. With their British charm, they have managed to become successful in Korea as well. Of course, their fame has been further amplified by many Korean artists, including Baek Ye Rin, Jannabi , BTS' Jungkook , DAY6's Young K, BLACKPINK's Rosé and Lee Seung Yoon, who have covered their songs and performed to Korean audiences. Let's take a look back to the magic moment Oasis was in Korea last (Liam Gallagher). As the possibility of an Oasis concert in Korea remains undecided, interest in the band is expected to grow even further, but will fans be able to afford Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing system? Let us know what you think of Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing structure in the comments below. #Oasisreunion #GallagherBrothers #LiamGallagher #NoahGallagher #oasis25

Blackpink's Jennie has signed a contract with Columbia Records, in partnership with her record label and company Oddatelier with her new single which is set to be released in October. Jennie was actually signed by the record label this morning (September 9, 2024) and it was updated on Columbia Records own Instagram page, with the caption "We are family" which I thought was endearing to hear. Let's take a look at this historic post! Jennie is my favorite member of Blackpink due to her impressive vocals and image. I think that she is always on point, and excels at everything she puts her mind to. Jennie is also the highest achieving female Korean act on the Billboard charts, and she is the only Korean artist to headline Coachella . She also released her debut solo album "SOLO" in 2018 before the band went their separate ways, and later in 2023, she released a special solo "You & Me". Jennie was born in Korea, but moved to and studied in Auckland, New Zealand when she was 10 for five years before returning to Korea and joining the entertainment powerhouse YG’s talent academy. Blackpink formed in 2016 and has gone on to become the first music group and Korean female act to have five music videos accumulate one billion views each on YouTube and are the most-followed girl group on Spotify and rightly so. Their music and dance routines are highly addictive and easy to listen to. Will this new partnership mean a new album from Jennie? And a tour potentially? I really hope so, as I would love her to have the chance to tour as a solo artist as many of her fans would. • NewJeans Members Shine in Acting! Latest News & Discussion on NJWS SFW 2025 Drama Skit!

NewJeans , the leading group of the 5th generation K-pop era, has taken the internet by storm, not just for their refreshing Y2K-inspired  music but also for their impressive acting skills. While their acting journey began with their popular MVs like "Hype Boy" and "Ditto," their latest skit video for Seoul Fashion Week  has left fans demanding more. On September 2, 2024, Seoul Fashion Week released a skit featuring the NewJeans members titled Runway Reverie.  This short film captures the diverse and hidden stories of the catwalk, set against the glamorous backdrop of the fashion world. The skit focuses on a backstage conversation where Minji shares a vivid dream about a mysterious cat with rainbow-colored eyes. As the narrative unfolds, the cat seems to represent her fellow members — Danielle , Haerin , Hyein , and Hanni . The cat's true identity remains ambiguous, symbolizing the collective anxieties the members might feel about their upcoming performance. The NewJeans members showcase their acting skills beautifully in this skit. Minji’s role as the narrator highlights the deeper emotional layers, while the others playfully explore their dream-like roles. Minji’s expressions, in particular, reflect a young artist navigating both dreams and fears, adding an intriguing psychological twist to the story. NewJeans' acting talent isn’t new to fans. Their debut MV, " Hype Boy "  (192 million views), was loved not only for its Y2K vibe but also for its engaging storyline. Their winter release " Ditto "  (44 million views) portrayed the girls as mystical school students, creating a dreamy, nostalgic atmosphere. Recently, " OMG "  (273 million views) impressed viewers again with Hanni's standout performance as an AI, adding another layer to their storytelling. K-pop MVs often feature intricate plots, but NewJeans takes it further by incorporating real emotional depth into their performances. They continue to surprise fans with their vocal, dance, and acting abilities, making them one of the most multifaceted groups in K-pop. NewJeans Appointed as Seoul Fashion Week Brand Ambassador In another milestone, NewJeans was named brand ambassador for Seoul Fashion Week, cementing their influence in both music and fashion. The girls graced the runway at the 2025 S/S Seoul Fashion Week on September 3, 2024, at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) , showcasing their chic and youthful style. Hyein turned heads with an oversized coat and stylish glasses, while Haerin looked elegant in a simple white dress paired with contemporary hoop earrings. Danielle channeled a preppy high-school look, Hanni dazzled in a grey dress and unique jacket, and Minji went for a cool vibe with a preppy outfit. Despite their professional poise, the girls have faced significant pressure following the internal conflicts between ADOR and HYBE, including the resignation of former CEO Min Hee Jin , who played a pivotal role in NewJeans' creation. At the event, Hyein was seen in tears, overwhelmed by the outpouring of fan support, showing just how much the love of their fans means to them. • "Café Relax" is the best café for this fall! [Café of the Month]

With the hot and humid summer season coming to an end, autumn is just around the corner, and Café Relax will really help you get into the spirit of the season of moody colors. We tell you why this café is the best choice to enjoy the fall season in South Korea! It is estimated that Korea has over 120,000 cafés . Additionally, such cafés range from simple “grab and go” shops to massive and elaborate themed cafés. Seoul alone has an estimated 22,000 cafés! This has only fueled my love of coffee, and I have to say when I have traveled to other Asian countries this past year, I have felt disappointed that there has not been a café on every street corner, to help fuel my coffee addiction. For September, I have chosen Café Relax as the Café of the Month. I would suggest visiting here towards the end of September to see the tree colors at their peak. Nestled on Samyang-ro 181-gil (삼양로181길) , Café Relax enjoys a prime position along a road that winds its way uphill, near the famous Bukhansan National Park of Bukhan Mountain (check out my previous article on why you should visit Bukhansan), the highest peak within Seoul’s city limits. Benefiting from this advantageous location, Café Relax is immersed in a tranquil forested ambiance, which seems to have inspired its name. As autumn arrives, envision the awe-inspiring transformation that occurs, as the surroundings morph into a captivating atmosphere which truly is a spectacle that should not be missed. A great thing that this destination café offers is the ability to enjoy nature from all angles. With many inviting seats scattered throughout the café, there’s no shortage of cozy spots to enjoy its relaxing atmosphere. However, when it comes to capturing the enchanting colors that autumn has to offer you will be able to enjoy them all around you, but I do suggest arriving there prior to lunchtime or after lunchtime to get a good seat. So, whether you’re capturing the perfect shot or simply looking to unwind in a stylish setting, Café Relax has got you covered. I just love being at one with nature, and as this location is easily accessible from Central Seoul, it was a must-do for me. The food and drink menu is also competitive for Seoul, and personally with this café being a destination in itself why not bring your camera, your partner, or a book and focus on the seasons changing, and make some memories along the way! Due to the atmosphere of this café, I have to rate it a strong 8 out of 10 . The reason why it did not achieve full marks is due to the bakery not being fully stocked when I arrived, and with the location not being in central Seoul. That said, I really do suggest to add this café to your bucket list of places to do this September / fall season. Let us know in the comments below, if you have been to Café Relax before, and if so tag us in your photos! #cafe #cafehopping #seoul #cafeculture #coffeetime #coffeeaddict #cafeofthemonth

  • "Squid Game" Actor Lee Jung Jae faces criminal allegations! We have all the details!

Popular among many, and a household name for many Squid Game actor Lee Jung Jae faces criminal allegations of fraud. Here are all the details you need to know! I have watched Squid Game season one like many, and during the series I got to love the actor Lee Jung Jae. Of course, playing one of the main parts in Squid Game for the actor was a well paid job, however outside of his work, and before the release of Squid Game season 2 in December, some allegations have come about, that the actor has been involved in fraud. The complaint, lodged by Kim Dong Rae, CEO of the KOSDAQ-listed drama studio RaemongRaein , accuses Lee and Park In Kyu, the former CEO of WYSIWYG Studios , of fraud under the Specific Economic Crimes Act. According to Kim, Lee and Park misled him by claiming that their involvement as major shareholders would significantly boost RaemongRaein’s growth, prompting him to transfer his shares. However, after obtaining the shares, Lee and Park allegedly tried to exclude Kim from the company’s management. Kim further alleged that, despite agreeing to jointly manage the company, Lee and Park did not honour this commitment. So would someone with such a high profile career really make false accusations? This is the question that I have been wondering since I heard the story. Well according to Kim’s allegations, Park and Lee made false claims where they convinced the former to involve the duo as major shareholders and this will result in his company’s growth. Kim, therefore, transferred his shares to them. However, he accused Lee and Park of trying to remove him from the company’s management, so why would the star do this? Lee Jung Jae’s team has denied all allegations and stated there was no breach of the contract which only mentioned the transfer of management rights which were agreed upon with mutual consent. The actor’s representatives established there was little contact between them and Kim before and after the signing of the contract. Lee has countersued the CEO for making false allegations of fraud. The police station in-charge has questioned Kim regarding the case and will call Lee and the former CEO next. I believe that of course there was some transaction and deal made between the pair, however perhaps the CEO back tracked at the last minute, and by then the Squid Game actor decided that he of course still wanted to proceed with the deal and went ahead and carried out financial activities. Either way, this has come about just before the release of series 2 of Squid Game , which has captured a global audience. Let us know your thoughts on this topic in the comments below.
