Winter and Christmas is all about feeling festive, and what better way than hitting one of Seoul's famous Ice rinks this winter! We give you our top 4 ice rinks in the city that keeps the good times rolling without breaking the bank! Olympic Park Image Seoul Olympic Park - Lewis Hooper Every year, Olympic Park opens their famous ice rink to the public. This ice rink is one of my favorite places to skate. Here, you get incredible views of the world famous Lotte Tower , for a competitive cost 5,000 won (USD 3.50) for skate rental and entry! Seoul City Hall One of the more famous and touristic destinations for ice skating, Seoul City Hall is a destination in itself. The ice rink is located right in front of the enormous City Hall in Seoul Plaza. Here, the entry and skate rental is also around 5,000 won (USD 3.50)! *Bonus — you can order snacks and enjoy the festive ambiance front of the enormous Christmas tree! Yeoido Park Ice Rink If you are anything like me, and love being by the river, then this ice rink is one not to be missed. Not only, is it pretty large since it covers an area of over 2m000 square meters, it is also one of the cheaper ice rinks to visit this winter. For a 90 minute session it will only cost 6,000 won (USD 4.20). What a bargain! When Seoul has snow, the playground is fun for everyone to enjoy, as well as the beautiful pictures this winter season. Also, close by is a sledding hill, and snow park! Sangnam MBC Skate Rink Sangnam MBC Skate Rink. - Image Trazy If you have watched Korean TV broadcasts before then you will have heard of MBC . MBC has opened up it's very own ice rink in the central district of Mapo . This ice rink costs 5,000 won (USD 3.50) for entry and skate rentals, and you also have the advantage of being able to purchase snacks nearby. The only draw back, is that the ice rink is limited to time sessions of one hour at a time, with a 30 minute cleaning slot in-between. I recommend to get there early as the first session of the day is 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM and the last session is 20:30 - 21:30 . Regardless of your ice skating ability and budget, Seoul has some amazing ice rinks for people of all ages to enjoy this winter. • Behind-the-scenes of Hyun Bin's new MUST-WATCH war-thriller movie "Harbin"!

Dojeon team member, Lewis, shares his personal experience as an extra in Hyun Bin's new war-thriller Harbin ! Plus, we unveil why this highly-anticipated movie has fans itching in their seats! Image: Koreanproductpost What is Harbin about? This brand new and exciting spy film covers espionage and thriller all in one. Set in 1909, this film will leave viewers feeling tense throughout, in pursuit between those heading to Harbin in Northern China for a mission. Joining them on this mission is a well-known Korean independence fighter Ahn Jung Geun ( Hyun Bin ) who assassinated Ito Hirobumi, the first prime minister and resident general of Korea at Harbin station. At this time, Korea was under the horrendous brutal Japanese colonial rule from 1910 to 1945. The plot: The plot for the most part is simple, however it does have many components. Allies, shelter, or weaponry, often make it from one place to the next and can cause a few setbacks, which are usually due to Mori, whose shame at having been spared has made him deeply obsessed with capturing Ahn. A man who is almost always the topic of conversation, despite this Harbin never feels like a mechanical movie as it comes down to its knockout stylization. Deep shadows and low gaslights create a mysterious atmosphere which, alongside the characters’ black trench coats and low-brimmed hats, turn this historical piece into a thrilling neo-noir. The frame is always engrossing, making it hard to look away as the characters wrestle with moral quandaries about why they might be pursuing their goals and the people and ethics they’re willing to discard along the way. Let's check out the long-awaited trailer for this wartime thriller! Trailer unpacked! From this trailer, it's clear that there are outstanding visuals, which show lonely shots of Ahn traversing an ice hell, which in context is eventually added to the scene of wandering how Ahn and his fellow freedom fighters might have felt at the hellish time. This trailer allows the viewers to feel as if they are in the movie themselves, which during these messy wartime sequences, it allows viewers to also pick up on the mistrust that might have depicted some of the details at the time during the central scheme. The violence in Harbin is up close and personal in the trailer, making Ahn's decision to spare a vicious Japanese Major all the more controversial. Fans have been quick to take to social media, following the release of the trailer! The making of Harbin: (Behind the scenes details!) As some of you have read my previous articles, I have been working in the Korean entertainment industry for the past four years, and I was lucky enough to work as an extra on this movie for some of the train scenes and background solider scenes. On set of "Harbin" (Photo courtesy: Lewis Hooper) During the filming of this movie the scale of production was literally insane. From foreign extras, Korean extras and then of course the main cast themselves. In addition, there were literally hundreds of crew and production team members on set. Though this may sound chaotic for some, the atmosphere was electric, and it led to a great filming experience. Getting into character (Photo courtesy: Lewis Hooper) The filming days were long, often with early morning call times and late finishes, and I found it interesting that the scenes I filmed were based in Andong , for this 1905 historical drama, which was filmed during March 2023. This just goes to show how much work is put into filming, editing, and creating a movie of this scale. On set of "Harbin" (Photo courtesy: Lewis Hooper) The roles that I played involved acting as a solider, so ,I needed to ensure that I was cleanly shaven, and dressed well in the provided costumes. The train setting was the most fun for me, as I love traveling by train and to be part of an iconic scene was meaningful to me, and having watched some of the finished version in the trailer from those train scenes is fun to watch, as I am impressed how good it looks and how well it has come together. Let us know if you will be heading to theatres to watch this new action-thriller in the comments below. #harbin #koreamovie #kmovie #kdrama #kentertainment #hyunbin

With only three episodes released so far, fans are already debating whether this version can match or surpass the original. This article will explore what makes the Japanese remake special and discuss whether it’s a must-watch for Nevertheless  fans! How Are the Two Versions Similar? Both versions of Nevertheless  focus on love, hesitation, and emotional struggles. The storyline beautifully explores the challenges of forming connections, despite uncertainties in relationships. Visually, both shows feature stunning cinematography to enhance the romantic mood. The Korean version highlights the charm of Seoul’s small towns, while the Japanese remake captures Kamakura’s peaceful and scenic vibe. Nevertheless: Shapes of Love (Japanese version) Credits: ABEMA In both adaptations, nature adds a dreamy quality to the storytelling. The soft breezes, picturesque landscapes, and heartfelt moments immerse viewers in the characters’ emotions. What Makes Each Version Unique? One major difference lies in the characters’ stages of life . The Korean version centers on university students, showing the turbulence and confusion of young love. • Ko Soo and Kwon Yu Ri team up to take down the corruption in their latest tvN cop drama "Parole Examiner Lee"!

With many K-dramas out there, Parole Examiner Lee stands out as a must-watch this winter! We discuss why this drama should be at the top of your winter watchlist! What is this drama about? Lee Han Shin ( Ko Soo ) is a former lawyer who turned into a parole examiner. He is dedicated to his job which involves preventing inmates from exploiting the parole system through money, connections, or deceit, however, he is empathetic towards people who are unjustly imprisoned. Still from "Parole Examiner Lee" (tvN) Han Shin teams up with detective An Seo Yun ( Kwon Yu Ri ) and the two cops are joined by an unexpected ally loan shark Choi Hwa Ran with the ultimate goal of confronting Ji Myeong Seop, a second-generation family business heir who believes he's above the law. Can this unlikely group succeed in its battle against corruption? https://www.dojeonmedia.com/post/11-most-anticipated-k-drama-releasing-november-2024 Let's check out the official trailer: The screen has been turned into a scene where Chairman Ji Dong Man is sentenced to three years in prison on charges of embezzlement and breach of trust. Lawyer Lee Han Shin, who appeared in the flying egg baptism with the anger of civic groups to arrest Ji Dong Man, protected Ji Dong Man and handed over his business card, saying, "Please call me whenever you need me." A year later, Lee Han Shin, who became a butler lawyer, won the favor of Ji Dong Man by using all means, including meeting actor Choi Won Mi ( Hwang Woo Seul Hye ), his ex-wife, and bringing his dog Leo. Lee Han Shin's appearance in the lawyer's reception room, singing "Why are you coming out of there," while wearing glitter and handing over his dog Leo to Ji Dong Man caused laughter and highlighted his unique personality of doing anything to get what he wanted. Why Parole Officer Lee has us intrigued I love thrillers and crime shows, and this trailer has made me intrigued by what is driving the main characters, and it makes me curious about what Han Shin's plan is, and the motivation behind it. Han Shin is playing the long game and has managed to play the character very well based on what we have been able to see so far. Our hero is not here to play, and Han Shin makes it very clear to the parole board that he will look into everything carefully, and he even did his legwork to get a repentant criminal accepted onto the parole list. So when it comes to Chairman Ji’s “special in-person” parole hearing, Han Shin has some evidence and theatrics to wave around at everyone and I loved it. You can tell Han Shin is hanging on by a thread and is willing to throw himself under the bus to get the job done. Following the show being aired, fans have taken to social media to express their opinions, plot twists and suspicions. Let's check some of them out! This series depicts the thrilling and ironclad defence lawyer Lee Han Shin, who becomes the final judge of prisoners and a parole officer who stops people with bad consciences. This is a must watch winter drama, that will leave you at the edge of your seats! • Is it time to speak out?! K-pop idols need to speak out in a time of need! A national crisis unfolded!

Image: Teen Vogue With such a powerful influence, K-idols have large global fan bases, who are at times easily influenced by what their idols say and do, so it is no wonder that there is a divided opinion as to, whether or not K-idols should speak out about the recent 2024 martial law failed attempt . We uncover why K-pop idols are so hesitant to speak their minds on this matter and which idol was the first to do it! Image: Getty Images - OneUS So why are K-pop idols so quiet on hot issues? Korean celebrities have avoided controversial topics and issues stem, understandably, from the goal of achieving widespread global popularity. In trying to succeed and gain a loyal fanbase, K-pop agencies have instructed singers to avoid topics that could alienate fans instead of attracting them. K-pop stars are not allowed to date, let alone voice opinions that could be seen as sensitive to global issues, abroad or at home. Some of the problems are within the K-pop industry itself, and looking at internal issues may be a good place to start. Idols often face grueling working conditions and severe mental and physical pressure, and if idols are to begin using their influence to voice opinions about politics, then agencies should be in a place to support their artists, rather than abandoning them when controversy arises. Let's check out this news coverage clip, on how the martial law declaration unfolded. Idols should use their platform to speak out on human rights movements, not only because they have the influence to support some of these causes, but they can also use their voice to cerement their global power. In order to remain globally relevant, K-pop must be the first mover, not a fast follower, as it can result in getting left behind. Some fans worry that without Hallyu and the K-entertainment industry, then it the current attraction and influence that K-culture has on so many people globally will suddenly disappear, leaving Korea with not much else to fall back on, since Koreas natural resources are little to be desired. Many K-pop fans have taken to social media to express their opinions on this topic, let's check some of them out!
