Compared to Western award shows, such as the Grammys, Golden Globes for example, I have to say that the Korean award show felt very much 'orderly' from set places for the winners to stand depending on if you are male or female, as well as the tables themselves. If you have ever watched a Western award show, you will see lavish tables, with bottles of alcohol, food and decorations, however having watched the SBS Drama awards, these things seemed to be lacking. Following this, the dress code did as well. I am sure that the clothes were high fashion items, and therefore cost more than my monthly rent, however everyone looked the same. Black tie, black dresses and it made it feel very sterile and uniformed.
