Why NewJeans Made The Risky Move of Unauthorized YouTube Live, to call for the return of ex-ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin!

NewJeans members call for the return of the ex-ADOR CEO, Min Hee Jin, creating a rift in the K-pop and HYBE community as fans were shocked to hear one of their favorite girl groups fighting against the biggest K-pop entertainment label! Let's take a look at the details!

NewJeans members on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, demanded that record label HYBE reinstate Min Hee Jin as CEO of the girl group's management agency ADOR.

"What we want is the original ADOR headed by Min Hee Jin, where management and production moved in unison", all five members said through a YouTube livestream, openly calling for Min's reinstatement for the first time.

Let's see what they actually said!

The live stream came about two weeks after ADOR removed Min from the CEO position following a months-long dispute between Min and HYBE, which owns an 80 percent stake in the label. This ongoing public battle to get Min removed from the label took months and she made it known that she would not go down without a fight.

HYBE has accused Min of plotting to seize control of ADOR to break away from its parent company and take NewJeans with her since April. Min has denied the allegations, hitting back at HYBE for allegedly discriminating against NewJeans in favor of other artists under HYBE.

Not to mention that this live stream was against YouTube's policies, which meant that the now-deleted video (of course people recorded it) was recorded at the time under a newly-created account named "nwjns". Sounds like a risky career move to us.

In our opinion, the time spent to get the former CEO removed took months, and the amount of media attention that it gained and again will gain now since they are asking for reinstatement seems like a cry for help and a way to get NewJeans into the mainstream media. They should focus on keeping their own reputations in tact, and creating new music and move on with a new CEO who in time will settle into the role.

Will this cry for reinstatement go anywhere? We think not, but it is a crazy world that we live in right now, so truly anything could happen.
