For me before coming to Seoul, Namsan Tower was somewhere that I really wanted to visit. I had heard that it had insane panoramic views over the mega city, and I was not disappointed! You can opt to take a regular bus to the base of the tower, however I decided to hike up, which took around 1 hour, and I have to say this led for some amazing rest stops on the way! I would suggest if you do decide to hike up, to take a drink with you as there is no store or vending machine on the way up.

Take your special someone to one of the scenic areas in Namsan Seoul Tower, to the proposal staircase, or if you don't have anyone special to take with you, don't worry, it is still a great photo spot! Even though I did not put a lock on the staircase or wall, it still was a special moment for me, as the view and the stories behind some of the locks were very touching, as I have also seen this spot on many photos before going myself.

I also found it really peaceful as I arrived there mid morning. I would suggest heading there earlier in the day to avoid crowds, especially if you are planning to take the cable car, as on the weekend or afternoons there tends to be a bigger crowd.

There are of course cafes, a convenience store, restaurants and bars at the top of Namsan mountain, and the tower, of course. I did not pay to go to the top of the tower, however I found there was plenty to do around the base. If you are after an extra special view, then I have heard that the view from the observatory is really good. For me getting a coffee and looking down at the vast array of buildings was enough. The art work and sculptures alike also made for many great photos which to this day I still look back at.

Don't worry if you don't like heights, the area is secured and the cable car is quick and safe. Of course for a perfect evening view over the heart of Seoul, its recommended to head to the top of Namsan Tower for sunset for incredible views and memories.
