Girls' Generation thought this title track was going to flop but it defied expectations! Read on to find out how and why!
Girls' Generation (SNSD) are known for being one of the most active and legendary groups in K-pop, since they have released many hit songs which have also been successful overseas. Of course, creating hit songs is no easy task, and the girls during their song writing time came up with songs which they were uncertain if they would become successful.
Not so long ago, a SNSD song became a hot topic on some online forums discussing how fans thought the song was impressive, catchy and great. This song was "I Got A Boy' which was released back in 2013, which at the time it was released it was a big risk and therefore the girls thought it would be unsuccessful compared to their other hits.
Let's take a look at the video at question!
In previous interviews the girls shared that "This was a song that even received divided opinions from us. Some members reacted with 'What is this?' But then later, the members who chose the song to be the title track said, 'This is a song that the more you listen to it, the more you want to keep listening'". Member Seohyun shared, "We somewhat expected that the initial response wouldn't be that great."
Fans have also taken to social media sites such as Instagram, and have posted videos of themselves taking part in trending dance challenges which have gone viral, let's take a look at one!
For me, having watched this video I think that the lyrics are really down to earth and therefore perhaps relatable to their fans which is why the song has hit the forum headlines recently. I think at the time of it's release the dance style was edgy to, and it helped to pave the way for future girl groups. The song has reached 2.3 million views on YouTube and each day it continues to grow. These girls are truly unstoppable!
