The Glory fans have more great news to cheer about as Cha Joo Young (who plays Choi Hye Jeong, a sexy flight attendant and one of the bullies) just landed her first lead role. Despite her nine-year acting career, Cha Joo Young has yet to land her first lead role, until now! Let's see what's all the buzz about!
After watching The Glory most fans would agree that Joo Young's acting was amazing and that she should get more screen time! Their thoughts would be right since she won "Best New Actress" in 2018 and "Best Supporting Actress" in 2020 and in 2022! The multi-lingual actress (she speaks 5 different languages by the way) is now the lead actress in an upcoming period drama!
An entertainment official spoke to Sports Chosun on May 9 that Cha Joo Young will be the main character in tVN's new drama Wonkyung. Wonkyung is about Queen Wonkyung who joined hands with King Taejong Lee Bang-won 600 years ago to gain power. It will portray the story of Queen Wonkyung, "who had no choice but to be written as the incarnation of jealousy and desire in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty."
Not much information was given about the upcoming drama so stay tuned! If you've finished The Glory you can catch more of Cha Joo Young in her ongoing drama The Real Has Come where she plays one of the leads, Jang Se Jin!
