Let's get into it!

BTS' Jungkook released his second solo song "3D" featuring Jack Harlow last week. Let's dive a little deeper into some of the lyrics and what exactly Jungkookie is trying to tell us. If you haven't yet seen or heard the song please check it out below!

Now time for the lyric analysis! Thank you, Genius!

[Verse 1: Jung Kook]

I can't touch you through the phone

Or kiss you through the universe

In another time zone

It's the only time I can't reverse

But when there's two dimensions

There's only one I'm missin'

And if you feel alone

You don't have to feel that no more

So basically the gist is that Jungkook's love interest is not near him and is potentially only able to communicate with him through the phone. As we know with the release of his song "Seven" Jungkook's style has taken a more mature direction as we've reported on before, you can read more HERE.

This song is once again, about sex and specifically 'sexting' which is the "2D" he refers to. Despite the fact, I think he makes it seem quite tasteful (though I'm not encouraging sexting - stay cyber safe out there kids), or perhaps I'm just biased (he is my bias).

Jungkook wants to be able to touch his partner and the two dimensions he's referring to is not being able to touch her for example, when watching a movie or looking at a drawing (as below) it's 2D, so he has her in a 2D sense on the phone.

How cute is the "kiss you through the universe" line though? He makes the vibe quite romantic, similar to the lyric in "Seven":

"Show you what devotion is, Deeper than the ocean is"

If you haven't seen "Seven" you can take a look here:

Let's continue!

[Chorus: Jung Kook]

So if you're ready (So if you're ready)

And if you'll let me (And if you'll let me)

I wanna see it in motion, in 3D (Uh-uh)

You won't regret me (You won't regret me)

Champagne confetti (Champagnе confetti)

I wanna see it in motion, in 3D

In this section we have a consensual king, making sure his partner is ready and okay to engage in the sexual interaction he is suggesting. He wants to take their 2D sexting relationship and bring it to life in 3D and engage in sexual intercourse. Wow, I said it!

"You won't regret me" - I feel like that's self-explanatory.

"Champagne confetti" refers to women's orgasms. Yep, I said it again. I actually found this out on Instagram!

Jungkook has matured! It's such a different side to what we see with BTS, but we love it!

[Verse 2: Jung Kook]

Body to body to body to body to body

You and me, baby, you know that we got it

So don't go gettin' me started

'Cause you know I get hot-hearted

Baby, oh, baby, oh, baby, you makin' me crazy

Rain, rain, rain, you can't fake it

You give me brand-new emotion

You got me drinkin' that potion

This part of the song is generally self-explanatory. He wants to be closer to her and says that once he gets started he gets very passionate about the interaction. We are assuming that "rain" is referring to sexual arousal.

JK has got us re-thinking the lyrics like:

[Verse 3: Jack Harlow]

I had one girl (One girl), too boring

Two girls (Two girls), that was cool for me

Three girls, damn, dude's horny

Four girls, okay, now you whorin'

I won't analyze too much of the rap in this article, but I will mention the controversies regarding the use of "ABGs".

For those of you who don't know the term "ABG" as of 2023 means "Asian Baby Girl" and has had a varied definition over the years. The original term was used to refer to Asian women involved in criminal activity but, has since changed to women who are "gangsta" and party a lot, etc. These days I feel it refers to a particular aesthetic and style and aims to empower Asian women. The issue arose in the song as some people thought Jack Harlow meant the lyric in a derogatory way. You can read more about the debate HERE.

What did you think about the song? We loved it. Jungkook is definitely maturing and finding his own style with his music and we want more! Comment below what you thought of the song. Too much or no? We want to know!
