Rolling Quartz Dazzles NYC Fans in An Intimate Concert!

Rolling Quartz, a five-member, all-female Korean rock group, recently visited New York City and held two near-capacity concerts at the Mercury Lounge on the Lower East Side. Supported by Fake Star USA, the group’s multi-stop "Rock ‘N’ Roll Paradise" was highly anticipated with VIP tickets being sold out for months!

Despite debuting during the pandemic in late 2020, the group was immediately successful by connecting directly to fans via YouTube live concerts and content. After performing domestically at small venues and festivals, interest in the band grew after they performed at Otakon 2022 in a joint concert with PIXY and AleXa.

Consisting of bassist Arem, guitarist Iree, drummer Yeongeun, vocalist Jayoung, and rhythm guitarist Hyunjung, the band is known for its rock sound with powerful vocals. While their original songs, such as "Blaze" and "Delight", are extremely popular, they have also performed rock covers of various popular K-pop songs, such as BTS's "Dynamite", Maya's "Azalea" and Dreamcatcher's "Good Night".

DIADEM, the group’s fandom, could not wait for the band to take the intimate stage. Prior to the show, lucky DIADEM was able to pose for group photos with the band in a special VIP event. Each attendee also received a set of special photo cards and a signed poster!

As people filed into the venue, opener Jacob Geoffrey warmed up the crowd, performing a pleasing set of Midwest Emo. Not long after, Rolling Quartz entered the stage and instantly launched into two iconic covers of the White Stripes’ "Seven Nation Army" and Metallica’s "For Whom the Bell Tolls". Fans were headbanging from the start, a far departure from the fairly tame world of K-pop.

Other show highlights included the group's own "Rock N Roll Paradise", where the crowd provided the backing track for the chorus, as well as inspired covers of Paramore's "Misery Business" and Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance".

After their two successful shows in New York City, the band traveled to Dallas to complete its U.S. tour before returning to Korea for some much-deserved and needed rest.
