Winter and Christmas is all about feeling festive, and what better way than hitting one of Seoul's famous Ice rinks this winter! We give you our top 4 ice rinks in the city that keeps the good times rolling without breaking the bank!

  1. Olympic Park

Every year, Olympic Park opens their famous ice rink to the public. This ice rink is one of my favorite places to skate. Here, you get incredible views of the world famous Lotte Tower, for a competitive cost 5,000 won (USD 3.50) for skate rental and entry!

  1. Seoul City Hall

One of the more famous and touristic destinations for ice skating, Seoul City Hall is a destination in itself. The ice rink is located right in front of the enormous City Hall in Seoul Plaza. Here, the entry and skate rental is also around 5,000 won (USD 3.50)!

*Bonus — you can order snacks and enjoy the festive ambiance front of the enormous Christmas tree!

  1. Yeoido Park Ice Rink

If you are anything like me, and love being by the river, then this ice rink is one not to be missed. Not only, is it pretty large since it covers an area of over 2m000 square meters, it is also one of the cheaper ice rinks to visit this winter. For a 90 minute session it will only cost 6,000 won (USD 4.20). What a bargain! When Seoul has snow, the playground is fun for everyone to enjoy, as well as the beautiful pictures this winter season. Also, close by is a sledding hill, and snow park!

  1. Sangnam MBC Skate Rink

If you have watched Korean TV broadcasts before then you will have heard of MBC. MBC has opened up it's very own ice rink in the central district of Mapo. This ice rink costs 5,000 won (USD 3.50) for entry and skate rentals, and you also have the advantage of being able to purchase snacks nearby. The only draw back, is that the ice rink is limited to time sessions of one hour at a time, with a 30 minute cleaning slot in-between. I recommend to get there early as the first session of the day is 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM and the last session is 20:30 - 21:30.

Regardless of your ice skating ability and budget, Seoul has some amazing ice rinks for people of all ages to enjoy this winter. The festive spirit in the mega city of Seoul gets better as more young Koreans fall in love with the celebrations!
