For the first time, Netflix is sharing its viewership numbers publicly as they have painstakingly released the first bi-annual engagement report for the first half of 2023! We break down which K-dramas made the top 20 and which K-drama was the highest streamed!
Topping the chart with over 812 million streaming hours is The Night Agent: Season 1 followed by Ginny & Georgia: Season 2. And third on the list is The Glory: Season 1! The Glory: Season 1 was streamed over 622 million streaming hours and played a part in launching many of the careers of the cast! For example, playing the show's main bully, Park Yeon Jin, actress Lim Ji Yeon was able to take on the main lead for two future dramas Lies Hidden In My Garden and The Killing Vote, all within the same year!
Of course, we can't forget the unforgettable performance from Song Hye Kyo as she plays the role of an abused high school student who vows to take revenge on those who have physically and mentally tortured her throughout her childhood. Lee Do Hyun also cemented his status as a top-tier actor in the drama in his role as a physician and love interest in The Glory. His next drama, The Good Bad Mother, is a masterclass in acting as he slays the role of a handicapped prosecutor who loses his memory from a car accident.
