Who is Taeil?!

Moon Tae Il, 30, better known as, Taeil, is a singer and songwriter. He was born in South Korea’s capital, Seoul and began his singing career in 2013 when he was discovered by his label, SM Entertainment. In 2016, he joined NCT when the boy band made its debut, and he became the main vocalist for the band.

What do we know about these allegations?

South Korean singer Taeil has left the K-pop band NCT after being accused of an unspecified sexual crime, his label announced last Wednesday.

To hear this, I have to say that sadly I am not surprised if this rumor is true, as we have seen previously with the Burning Sun scandal that many famous artists tend to use their influence and status to exploit others or put them in vulnerable positions.

SM Entertainment released a statement on X, saying the NCT member will depart from the boy band after learning he has been "accused in a criminal case related to a sexual crime". I agree with this, as there is an open investigation regarding the member's actions, however, if this "criminal case" finds the star innocent, I don't think that label will resign him, due to the bad press that is surrounding the star currently.

The label did not specify the nature of the alleged crime but said it "recognized the seriousness of the situation" and decided Taeil could no longer "continue his activities with the team". However, Taeil himself has not publicly commented on the allegations.

Is this part of the cancelation culture? Or did the star commit these crimes? Only time will tell, however, because of this shocking news making headlines around the world, his career will never be the same.
