Summer Sonic 2025 is gearing up to be one of Japan's most exciting music festivals, and K-pop fans have a lot to look forward to!
This year’s festival will take place on August 16 and 17, simultaneously in Tokyo and Osaka, featuring a star-studded lineup of artists worldwide. Among the most highly anticipated performances are K-pop powerhouses aespa and the rising global sensation Katseye.
Aespa and Katseye to Shine at Summer Sonic 2025
Girl group aespa, known for their futuristic concept and chart-topping hits, will bring their high-energy performance to the Tokyo stage.
Since their debut in 2020 with "Black Mamba," aespa has taken the world by storm, and their recent Japanese debut with "Hot Mess" only solidified their growing international fanbase. With their signature AI-inspired visuals and synchronized choreography, aespa’s stage is expected to be a highlight of the festival.
Katseye, the six-member girl group formed through The Debut: Dream Academy, has been making waves since their official debut in June 2023 with "Debut".
As part of HYBE and Geffen Records’ global project, Katseye represents the future of K-pop’s international expansion. Unlike aespa, Katseye will be performing at both Tokyo and Osaka, giving fans in both cities a chance to witness their dynamic presence live.
The Lineup and Festival Details
Summer Sonic 2025 boasts an impressive lineup of around 100 acts spanning different genres.
Alongside aespa and Katseye, festival-goers can look forward to performances by international stars like Camila Cabello, J Balvin, Fall Out Boy, The Prodigy, and BABYMETAL. Japanese rock sensation Official Hige Dandism is also set to perform.
With one more headliner set to be announced in early March, the anticipation continues to build.
The festival will take place at two major venues: Zozomarine Stadium and Makuhari Messe in Tokyo and Expo '70 Commemorative Park in Osaka.
As always, artists will rotate between the two cities, ensuring that both locations experience a diverse mix of performances.

Given Summer Sonic’s reputation for selling out quickly, fans should act fast to secure their tickets.
Creativeman members can start purchasing discounted tickets from March 1, while official pre-orders with added benefits begin on March 12.
