I have said it before and I will say it again, Jennie is my favorite member of the K-pop girl band Blackpink, and I am delighted that she has taken on her solo career which I am sure she will be very successful in!
She recently dropped the teaser video for her new single "Pretty Girls".
Let's take a look at the new teaser!
From the start, I love the vintage style concept that has been used, with the screen flickers on what I would imagine being an old black and white TV, with her conservative but very fetching white dress and British teacup. That's before turning up the heat in an old Western-style and more raunchy outfit with that good old-fashioned American radio sound with the slight crackle in the background.
It is a little similar however to when Beyonce released "Pretty Girls" as she stripped back her makeup and dress code and went back to her humble African American routes in the deep South. In this video, of course, there are subliminal messages like "Pretty girls treat themselves and pretty girls don't do drugs", which makes me feel that the video will become more mainstream once the full video has been released. What do you think?
Speculation is that the full video will be released on October 11, 2024, although nothing has been officially confirmed, so be sure to keep a look out!
