Season two of Squid Game is back, and with 456 players involved in the deadly games, it might be a little hard keeping up with the characters right away. The good news, is that not all the players will be showcases as many of them are just extras in the show, but we have you covered with the main characters that you should get to know!
Player 456
Gi Hun or player 456 is the main character, that I am sure many of you will instantly recognize from season one. He is a struggling divorced gambler, who entered the game in order to win enough money to keep his relationship with his daughter, but was it worth the cost? Coming into season two, he needs to change his mindset and gain a sense or purpose to help lead the new players to victory, whilst building a relationship with the infamous Recruiter.
The Front Man
Making a rare appearance, the Front Man, who is the puppet-master behind the scenes of Squid Game, and the former winner, as the series continues, we will learn what he is willing to do, in order to protect the competition?
Jun Ho
Jun Ho, is a police officer, who in season one hoped to find his lost brother In Ho, who had been missing since he entered the games. Towards the end of the first series, he did manage to find his brother, however it turns out that he is now the front runner of the games, and the man in charge (The Front Man). In Ho shoots Jun Ho off the top off a cliff, and letting him just fall to his death, Jun Ho recovers and is working as a traffic cop at the start of season two.
Hwang Jun Ho
Much like Gi Hu, detective Jun Ho, is focused on ending the deadly games forever, and with his increased determination with the lack of evidence that he has, he does hold it together and remains unshaken. trying to work on gaining evidence to help end the games.
Kang No Eul
Played by Park Gyu Young, No Eul is originally from North Korea, works at a theme park, with the hopes of brining her child to South Korea. She is recruited into the games, though not as a player but as a soldier. Why? Only time will tell.
Park Jun Bae
Cast as player 390, Park Jung Bae, is played by Lee Seo Hwan. Jung Bae, is in fact, Gi Hun's friend from outside the game, and he is the same one who gambled on several horse races in the premier of season one, though this time the two are meeting inside the game. How will the games affect their long lasting friendship?
Mr. Kim
Mr. Kim, known as Kim Dae Pyo, is Gi Huns former creditor. Gi Hun, after winning the game paid him back and later reinstated his services in order to help him find the recruiter. Mr. Kim is Woo Seok’s boss and friend, and Woo Seok becomes as invested in helping Gi-hun find the people behind the games.
Myung Gi
Myung Gi, known as player 333 he is a strong influencer who is into cryptocurrency. His decisions however, playing around with large sums of money, do lead him to a disaster, which affects himself and his followers. Squid Game sadly is the only way out of the mess that his gambles created, but will it be too dangerous for him?
Player 120
Park Sung Hoon known as player 120, will in-fact risk anything in order to achieve her goal of receiving essential medical treatment. She is a new face to the game, and as time goes on will her role evolve into something more dramatic?
Player 222
Player 222 Jun Hee, is a strong willed women, who is only participating in the game due to her bad business brain, and investments that she has made which have gone wrong due to her influencers. Not long into the show it is revealed that she has entered the game while pregnant with the baby of a fellow player in the game.
Tanos
Now, this famous rapper has joined the games as he feels debt creeping up on him, also through cryptocurrency. He is in-fact a real life Korean rapper, Choi Seung Hyun, or perhaps better known by his stage name T.O.P.!
Geum Ja
No, she is not the Korean James Bond, although not far from it. Geum Ja, known as player 149, is a headstrong women with a desire to provide for her family. Her reason for joining the game is to pay off her son's debts, but she later finds that he has joined the game as well as player 007.
