FIFTY FIFTY, The Boyz, Jay Park, and more K-pop idols attend the Billboard K POWER 100 event in Seoul!

Hallyu or South Korea's soft "power" has reached new heights as Billboard celebrated its launch of Billboard Korea in style on August 27! The biggest names and influencers in the K-pop industry all under one roof, we cover who attended and what to expect!

Billboard Korea is the Korean branch of Billboard Media. Billboard CEO Mike Van spoke about the marvelous event: "We’re thrilled to officially launch Billboard Korea. Our mission is to champion the growth of K-culture and foster global recognition of its incredible talent."


The awards ceremony was set at THE SILLA Seoul and recognized innovators in the Asian music industry. More than 30 entertainers were present including The Boyz, FIFTY FIFTY, Jay Park, EXO-CBX, BamBam, STAYC, and The Rose. Let's take a look at the highlight recap!

Billboard also recognized K-pop's greatest achievements on the Billboard 100 music charts by presenting custom art panel music frames to Wonder Girls, 2NE1, PSY, BTS, BLACKPINK, and more!

“Our goal is to expand K-pop and K-culture worldwide and leverage our role as cultural ambassadors to make a positive impact,” publisher Kim Yuna, who will lead Billboard Korea, said of the venture.
