1. Hometown Cha Cha Cha

Hometown Cha Cha Cha is a love story like no other. Set by in the seaside village of Gongjin, Yoon Hye Jin who is a big city dentist supposedly has a perfect life, though she finds herself consumed by the life of Hong Doo Shik who is a jack of all trades.


This drama is easy to watch, though it is filled with romance, comedy and even suspense at times and it is a must watch for those who are seeking something different from their typical TV romance.




2. My Girlfriend is a Gumiho

Number two on our list, is a K-drama that twists fantasy with romance. The drama follows Cha Tae Woong who frees a mythical nine tailed fox known as Gumiho. After being sealed inside a paining for 500 years, Gu Mi Ho the nine tailed fox, dreams of becoming human, though she has to count on Tae Woong to teach her the ways.




3. It's Okay to Not Be Okay

With K-dramas trying to become more sensitive to many global topics including mental health, this K-drama embraces the global trend. It's Okay to Not Be Okay, is about Moon Kang Tae who is a psychiatric ward worker who falls in love with a patient named Ko Moon Young despite her personality and troubled childhood past.




4. Crash Landing on You

Crash Landing on You, tackles the theme of forbidden love and the desperate measure we go to for the people we love. It follows the lives of a South Korean billionaire/CEO Yoon Se Ri and North Korean Special Forces Unit Captain Ri Jeong Hyeo who meet after a paragliding accident lands Se Ri in North Korea and in the hands of Jeong Hyeo. Se Ri learns first-hand the difficulties of life in North Korea while slowly falling in love with Captain Ri during her unfortunate stay. Despite the unfavorable circumstances, it is up to her North Korean friends to guide her home while simultaneously concealing their illicit relationship from the government.




5: I'm Not a Robot

Last up is I'm Not a Robot! This K-romance drama has been chosen despite having low ratings in Korea during it's air time, as it actually did incredibly well with overseas fans.


This drama focuses on a complex, yet riveting story of an unexpected romance, AI and a dangerous illness which is often seen in K-drama tropes. Min Kyu has a severe allergic reaction to the human touch and therefore falls in love with Ji Ah believing she's an AI.
