Synopsis
Choi Jin Hyeok (Kim Byung Chul Doctor Cha 2023) is a highly successful lawyer, winning the Citizens Award four years in a row. His perfect wife, Ha Eun Joo (Yoon Se Ah Hierarchy 2024), is a housewife and mother of their teenage daughter, Choi Sun Hui (Park Ju Hyun Seoul Vibe 2022). Sun Hui is a model student with a kind attitude towards her peers. One day, her childhood friend, Lee Soo Yeon (Choi Ye Bin), transfers to her school disrupting her "perfect life". Soo Yeon carries a dark secret from their past that causes Sun Hui to be wrapped up in a murder case. This perfect family suddenly isn't so "perfect" after all. Why we're watching
Four episodes in and we can't tear our eyes off the screen! Right from that start, we're thrown into a whirlwind of jealousy and rage as we witness a murder happen in front of Choi Sun Hui's eyes. As the plot thickens and we get a glimpse into her life as a high school student, we realize that Sun Hui isn't as perfect as everyone thinks and perhaps her family is covering up for something.
Character development is deep
As we dive deeper into the storyline, the characters' complexity and emotions are superb. The child lead actors Oh Eun Seo (Marry My Husband 2024) and Shim Ji Yoo (The Escape of the Seven 2023) are perfect in their roles. We're torn between empathy and sadness for the two long-lost friends reunited later in their lives.
An unexpected relationship!
Now this really took us by surprise! Just when you think Perfect Family is your average mystery teenage drama, it throws you for a loop! We don't want to give you all the details, but let's just say, the characters in this show are definitely NOT what they seem!
A murder gone awry!
Of course, the center of this drama is the murder. But not the way that you think! Full of jealousy, hatred, and spite, Perfect Family has the "perfect" ingredients to give you a mind-bending drama that will keep you glued to the screen and have you beg for more! This isn't your normal murder/mystery/thriller K-drama folks, and that's why we love it!
