With many Americans based in Korea for different reasons, a taste of home from time to time is needed, and coming from the UK the food in the US is very similar. A great thing I love about America's Southern cuisine is the home cooked slow roasted food, and of course, the welcoming Southern accent!

When I heard that there was an American-inspired chain in Korea called Texas Road House, I knew I had to try their food.

Their menu is very extensive, however, their signature meals are burgers or steaks, which I have to tell you have been very hard for me to find in Korea. Koreans simply love Korean food, and outside of Seoul, good Western food can be hard to find. I had been craving a burger for a long time, however, based on price point and seeing what other people had ordered in the restaurant, I opted for a steak and it was no disappointment!

Decor/Ambience

While I was waiting for my meal, I had the chance to take a look around the restaurant, and the dark interior reminded me of a typical American diner, such as the chain "Millars" however it felt nostalgic and homely which was great.

Time to eat!

With the fully loaded jacket potato which I had also been craving, the flavors worked so well. It reminded me of when I spent time in Florida when I was younger as this "home-cooked" rich Southern Style food hit the spot in every way possible!

If you are after an alternative to Korean food Texas Road House should be on your destination list for September. Not to mention, with the hot and humid Korean summer coming to an end this restaurant will offer you one last chance for a good old "Western BBQ" meal this year. As this is a chain, stores are located throughout the country, though they are usually located next to one of the US military bases.
