Cheering on working moms, Mother and Mom is set to be one of the hottest and most hilarious K-dramas this year! Here's why this drama has shot to the top of our Spring watchlist!

So what is this hilarious new drama about?
Also known as Riding Life, this is a new family comedy, a working mom to a seven-year-old daughter must enlist her mother to help shuttle her daughter to classes and academies in Gangnam's ultra-competitive education environment. This sounds like it will relate to so many Koreans and if you are a foreigner living in Korea, then I am sure that at some point you will have picked up on this hierarchy and traditional vibe.
Why YOU should be watching!

While the primary reason to watch might be to support Jeon Hye Jin (Not Others 2023) and the positive message of this drama, other reasons include the fact that it’s a female-led three-generation story that looks at motherhood, being a working mom, being a single mom, education expectations in Korea, and other pressing topics. Previously known by the literal translation "Riding Life" — as in, stop the world, I want to get off — the drama is billed as a family comedy with a strong human and healing element. We can look forward to Jeon Hye Jin, Jo Min Soo, Jung Jin Young, Joon Seok Ho, and more. Will this bring a more in-depth and realistic side to the stereotypes of a traditional Korean family?
The in-depth plot
As Lee Jung Eun struggles to balance taking care of her 7-year-old daughter Seo Yoon (Kim Sa Rang) and working a demanding full-time job, every day feels like a battle for the overstretched Jung Eun. However, despite her busy schedule, Jung Eun is determined to get her daughter admitted to a prestigious elementary school no matter what.
According to the drama’s producers, Jeon Hye Jin gave a humorous yet realistic portrayal of a working mom striving to give her child the best education possible.
Episode one recap
Episode one went live on March 3, 2025 at 10 pm KST. In episode one, it was hard to take our eyes off the grueling daily life that Jung Eun leads. We saw Jung Eun laugh, cry and basically go on a rollercoaster ride of emotions because of her daughter.
We also get to see Jung Eun hiring a driver to do the school run for Seo Yoon, her daughter, however, when the driver becomes unreachable, Jung Eun is left with no choice but to turn to her mother Yoon Ji Ah for help. She then finds herself engaging with Yong Wook, a grandfather who often does the school run for his grandson. Whom she later starts to develop a romance with. The episode showcased very well the deep desire and also competitive neighborhood in which she lives, and the cutthroat environment that many Koreans can relate to.
