Disney+'s new emotionally charged drama Wonderful World is slowly creeping up in viewership ratings as fans are realizing how good the show is! Kim Nam Joo is back from her award-winning role in Misty for Best Actress and Cha Eun Woo (A Good Day to Be a Dog 2023) is just everywhere these days as one of the hottest actors on television now!
Premiering on March 1 every Friday and Saturday at 21:50 KST, Wonderful World tells an excruciating tale of a mother, Eun Soo Hyun, losing her son in a tragic accident and taking revenge into her own hands due to the lack of sentencing from the law. As a result, she is sentenced to 7 years in prison where she pushes everyone with whom she is close with away, including her husband (Kim Kang Woo). She meets a young man, Kwon Seon Yul (Cha Eun Woo), who helps her get back on her feet and eventually helps her heal.
Emotionally driven and very well executed!
Not only did we feel Eun Soo Hyun's pain through the screen when she lost her son, but we were also able to feel her pent-up anger and rage when the sentencing was brought upon the corrupt businessman who hit and ran her son. Kim Nam Joo's amazing acting skills were on display as scene after tragic scene, she can exhibit a mother in despair! After watching just the first episode, you will feel her anger and desperation!
We can just feel Soo Hyun's struggle to rebuild her life throughout the first four episodes, but they are not without some mystery and suspense! On top of dealing with her emotions as a mother and reuniting with her husband, she finds out some deeply disturbing news about him! We don't want to spoil the series for you, but it is quite the nail-biter!
Cha Eun Woo's acting ability is on full display!
Cha Eun Woo has come a long way since his role in ID: Gangnam Beauty (2018). The cold icy demeanor that he is known for is long gone as his latest role as Kwon Seon Yul is a young man who deeply cares about justice and bringing down political scum! Filled with passion and concern for Eun Soo Hyun, we can't wait to see if this relationship will develop romantically (although the age gap is quite large)! We also can't help but appreciate the growth and inner struggle he displays throughout this drama as he is deeply hurt from his past.
