Kang Full's new supernatural/romance drama The Witch has left fans on the edge of their seats as the story of a teenage girl, living in self-isolation because of her reputation of being "a witch" has left a trail of bodies around her. We uncover why the man with a crush on her is doing all he can to help decode this "spell" or phenomenon!

Reasons to watch
Kang Full is on a roll lately, with his stories being adapted from left to right. The next one is The Witch, where Roh Jeong Eui is a girl who brings misfortune to those around her. Jinyoung is the one who is not able to stay away despite the fact that Jinyoung brings a delightful vibe to the storyline. The drama seems to set the tone of a wintery setting making it even more captivating for viewers.
Having completed his military service and returning home, Jinyong takes on the role of Dong Jin who is a top-tier date miner. Although that sounds a little boring, during his high school years Dong Jin hid his feelings away for Mi Jeong who was forced to leave after being labeled a witch.
As a result he was unable to confess his feelings at the time, but Dong Jin now sets out on a mission to uncover the truth behind the mysterious curse of the misfortune that has surrounded her using the power of big data that is so readily available.
Jinyoung shared his reason for choosing The Witch: “The idea of wanting to protect someone you love from afar felt incredibly fresh, and I was also curious about how director Kim Tae Kyun would bring it to life.”
So how has Jin Young decoded the spell?
Park Jin Young, aka Jinyoung, plays Lee Dong Jin, who is a data analyst in the new Korean mystery drama The Witch. Based on the available data it’s Dong Jin’s job to predict which outcome is likely and what actions will deliver the best results. He’s really good at finding the logical conclusion in any random situation.
This is sometimes easier said than done, and like with many, imaginations run wild from time to time, which can lead to dangerous and hurtful outcomes. He has watched it happen when he was in high school, and a fellow student Mi Jeong which gained the reputation of being a witch, due to an out of hand rumor, when things started to go wrong for a couple of male students. This led to her being unable to communicate with her class mates and as a result she dropped out of school and disappeared.
Around a decade later, on the same day that Dong Jin's car is mysteriously vandalized, he notices Mi Jeong on the subway. Is this by chance? A drunken man confesses his feelings for her and she rushes out of the subway car in order to try and evade him. Dong Jin follows her to learn that the drunken man on the subway suffered from a heart attack. Is this why the other students at her school called her a witch? The rumors that went around the school simply do not add up, so he begins to investigate all of the cases which have surrounded Mi Jeong to try and discover what happened.
Logical or supernatural?
The determination of Dong Jin might just happen to find out a logical explanation for Mi Jeongs bad omens around men. This drama is of course based on the fictional webtoon Manyeo, so it is probably not that likely.
Regardless if Mi Jeon is a witch or not, she has sure cast a spell on Ko Gyeom, so is she perhaps the victim of a curse herself? Will he be able to find a way to break it?
