With the hot and humid summer season coming to an end, autumn is just around the corner, and Café Relax will really help you get into the spirit of the season of moody colors. We tell you why this café is the best choice to enjoy the fall season in South Korea!
It is estimated that Korea has over 120,000 cafés. Additionally, such cafés range from simple “grab and go” shops to massive and elaborate themed cafés. Seoul alone has an estimated 22,000 cafés! This has only fueled my love of coffee, and I have to say when I have traveled to other Asian countries this past year, I have felt disappointed that there has not been a café on every street corner, to help fuel my coffee addiction.
For September, I have chosen Café Relax as the Café of the Month. I would suggest visiting here towards the end of September to see the tree colors at their peak.
Nestled on Samyang-ro 181-gil (삼양로181길), Café Relax enjoys a prime position along a road that winds its way uphill, near the famous Bukhansan National Park of Bukhan Mountain (check out my previous article on why you should visit Bukhansan), the highest peak within Seoul’s city limits. Benefiting from this advantageous location, Café Relax is immersed in a tranquil forested ambiance, which seems to have inspired its name. As autumn arrives, envision the awe-inspiring transformation that occurs, as the surroundings morph into a captivating atmosphere which truly is a spectacle that should not be missed. A great thing that this destination café offers is the ability to enjoy nature from all angles.
With many inviting seats scattered throughout the café, there’s no shortage of cozy spots to enjoy its relaxing atmosphere. However, when it comes to capturing the enchanting colors that autumn has to offer you will be able to enjoy them all around you, but I do suggest arriving there prior to lunchtime or after lunchtime to get a good seat. So, whether you’re capturing the perfect shot or simply looking to unwind in a stylish setting, Café Relax has got you covered.
I just love being at one with nature, and as this location is easily accessible from Central Seoul, it was a must-do for me. The food and drink menu is also competitive for Seoul, and personally with this café being a destination in itself why not bring your camera, your partner, or a book and focus on the seasons changing, and make some memories along the way!
Due to the atmosphere of this café, I have to rate it a strong 8 out of 10. The reason why it did not achieve full marks is due to the bakery not being fully stocked when I arrived, and with the location not being in central Seoul. That said, I really do suggest to add this café to your bucket list of places to do this September / fall season.
