BTS's SUGA's DUI case involving operating an electric scooter under the influence has officially received a verdict! We give you all the details on this case!
The verdict is out, and the BTS star SUGA has finally been fined for riding an electric scooter in the Yongsan area in Seoul whilst under the influence of alcohol.
On September 30, 2024, Judge Lee Yoo Seop at the Seoul Western District Court, issued a brief summary order on September 27, 2024, which sentenced BTS' SUGA to pay a 15 million Korean won (11,500 USD) fine, for violating the Road Traffic Act due to his drunk driving.
The Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office indicted Suga on September 10, 2024, with a 15 million won fine.
Although I think that the penalty is quite high considering the charge, it hopefully will not affect the star's job in the future. There was also as of yet no mention of he will lose his driving license. In the UK if you are caught driving under the influence in most cases depending on the circumstances you will be suspended from driving for a while in addition to paying a fine.
