K-pop meets the US music charts! Blackpink's Rosé and Bruno Mars have recently collaborated a new single "APT" and we're here to break it all down for you as well as the release of her full-length upcoming album Rosie!
Rosé has gained her success as being a part of the global phenomenon K-pop girl group BLACKPINK, and since the group has took an extended break ROSÉ has decided to bring her solo career forward. This time with an unlikely collaboration with US pop sensation Bruno Mars.
Rosé has also been open about her dream of becoming a "rock star" and as shown in the infamous NETFLIX documentary BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky, Rosé is set in a relaxed acoustic setting playing the guitar. She opened up in this documentary about how music has helped her through tough times in her personal life and that music has been a way for her to release her thoughts in an artistic way.
She later mentioned that during her training days as a K-pop idol that she had time to practice her vocals and guitar playing and that she misses it as since BLACKPINK have become famous time has been limited, so the only time that she has to chill out and be with her thoughts musically is at night time when she is supposed to be asleep. This just goes to show that money and success isn't everything right?!
Let's check out this emotional clip!
On the evening of October 16th 2024 Rosé took to her Instagram to share the eye catching poster (which we can see above) captioning it "APT". The anticipation surrounding this collaboration has been palpable, especially after the duo shared light-hearted moments from a recent gathering, showing their playful chemistry online, which we will later see in an infamous and trending social media post by the star.
After teasing fans with their party pictures, BLACKPINK member Rosé and Bruno Mars have finally made the much-awaited announcement of their official collaboration. Fans are buzzing with excitement as BLACKPINK's Rosé has joined forces with the legendary Bruno Mars for a brand-new single "APT".
Let's take a look at the official music video for Rose and Bruno Mars!
Her collaboration with Bruno Mars in more recent times, has offered and upbeat feel good melody.
Raunchy Lyrics?
Although the lyrics in the song are catchy, which is why I believe the song will take off, they are rather simple, but at the same time raunchy;
Don't you want me like I want you, baby?
Don't you need me like I need you now?
Sleep tomorrow, but tonight, go crazy
All you gotta do is just meet me at the..
For the chorus they are good lyrics to have as it leaves the continuation of the sentence to the listeners imagination.
Since the surprise release fans have left comments on the video showing their support for the new single:
Our opinion: (Song and Stars)
Bruno Mars has always been one of my childhood favorite stars from when I was at University, I remember watching him live in concert when I lived in London. His vocal ability and catchy lyrics at the time of his single "Marry You" and "Grenade" have definitely not been lost over the last ten years and have continues to serve him well in this collaboration with Rosé.
Rosé has actually blown me away as well with this new single, as I can feel the passion coming through when she sings. During her time with Blackpink I felt that she was one of the more outgoing members, and this has carried on today, with her sexy image and dress style. I really liked the chemistry that the two stars had together on camera, as the music video was fun, simple and executed very well and I can certainly see why this unlikely collaboration has taken off. Her hair style has also taken a likely resemblance to Marilyn Monroe and a more adult sophisticated look.
Fans have also been taking to social media after Rosé taught the US music star Bruno Mars how to play a traditional Korean drinking game, let's check it out!
Bruno Mars further fueled the excitement by sharing a candid shot on his Instagram, capturing them playing games with friends. His caption was a humorous recounting of his night, saying, “So this was me hanging on for dear life after @roses_are_rosie introduced me to this Korean drinking game and got me saucy". He continued with a playful anecdote, revealing, “Soon after, she tried to kiss me, and I was like, 'Woah Rosié! What part of the game is this?’” This banter highlights their fun dynamic, sparking interest in how it might influence their musical collaboration.
Meanwhile, Rosé's first full-length album Rosie, which includes "APT", is set to release on December 6, 2024 (Friday). The album will feature 12 songs in total, including the title track, with Rosé participating in both the writing and composing of all the songs, offering fans a more honest and personal story. Could this be the start of something more?
