The time-traveling mystery drama My Perfect Stranger just got stranger! The lead role, Baek Yoon Young (Jin Ki Joo Sh**ting Stars 2022), travels back to 1987 when her parents were still in high school to ever prevent them from liking each other! Let's take a look at what happened!

So why is Yoon Young so adamant about not letting her parents meet? It would also mean that she wouldn't exist in the future right? Something to keep in mind as we continue why! Back to the present, her father, Baek Hee Seob, is a deadbeat drunkard who always causes trouble to Yoon Young and her mother. At the same time, when Yoon Young learns that her mother commits suicide (that's all we know for the time being), she regrets not treating her mother better and despises the thought of living with her dad.
So with the back story out of the way, let's get back to episode 4 where in 1987, Yoon Young's young beautiful mother, Lee Soon Ae (Seo Ji Hye ID: Gangnam Beauty 2018), lives across the street, conveniently, and the two have taken a liking to each other. Yoon Young saves Soon Ae from drowning by class bullies earlier in the season, so the two have now become good friends.
Episode 4 starts off with Yoon Young realizing that her mother had her own dreams of becoming a writer and loved to read! She regrets the times when she looked weirdly at her mother, back in the present, when she told Yoon Young to "keep reading, don't let me bother you." While on a class trip, Soon Ae bumps into Yoon Young's father, Baek Hee Seob (Lee Won Jung New Normal Zine 2022). He is a charming, guitar-playing cool guy that Soon Ae finds irresistible! Smelling trouble, Yoon Young comes to her mother's rescue by hilariously saying "Look at his face! It looks like someone you'll regret being with later on!"
