A family entangled in murder and heartbreak, MBC's crime/thriller "Doubt" is seriously addicting! 3 reasons why you need to be watching!

MBC's new fall psychological crime/thriller, Doubt, has us addicted to the screen! Dark and mysterious, the storyline and incredible acting is worth the watch! We share three reasons why this drama is not to be missed!

Synopsis

Jang Tae Soo (Han Suk Kyu Dr. Romantic 2016) is at a familial crossroad, should he trust his teenage daughter, Jang Ha Bin (Chae Won Bin Sweet Home 2 & 3 2023-2024), or his instincts? After just two episodes in, the complex storyline has us questioning the authenticity of Ha Bin's answers and actions when she is confronted by her expert criminal profiler father.

Wrapped up in a local murder case, Jang Tae Soo is surprised to find out that his beloved hard-working daughter, Ha Bin, could be involved in the very same case he is currently investigating. Should he let his co-workers know himself or will they eventually find out? The balance of keeping a secret and following his instincts are put to the test!

3 reasons why Doubt should be at the top of your Fall watchlist!

  1. Han Suk Kyu is a genius actor!

Veteran actor Han Suk Kyu is not to be overlooked! His superior acting has us drawn into his character! We finally get to find out why this family tangled up in murder and mystery is so cold. With not much emotion from both father and daughter (Chae Won Bin is amazing by the way!), we didn't know what to expect. Now we know there is dark history between father and daughter!

What is interesting is that when Ha Bin is involved in a car accident, we can see the look of a concerned father in Jang Tae Soo's eyes. He loves his daughter and cares for her, but has no clue to how to have her open up. We find out that there was something that happened between the two involving Tae Soo's deceased wife that has caused a rift between them.

  1. Chae Won Bin is so secretive and unemotional...and it works!

Part of what makes Doubt so entertaining is Chae Won Bin's portrayal of an emotionally hurt daughter. Now that we know that she also had a younger brother who passed away when she was young, she has closed herself off to the world and her father. When a subway incident involving a missing cell phone and a trip to the police station occurs, Ha Bin must protect herself and the truth from coming out to her father and the police!

We sense that there is more to the story than what Ha Bin has been telling her father. When Tae Soo finds out some leads regarding his daughter's involvement in the murder case he is investigating, he dives into her private life causing a larger rift between father and daughter.

  1. Clues, clues, and more clues!

If you're a sucker for a mystery clues storyline, Doubt provides just the fix! With all signs pointing Ha Bin being involved in the murder case, the rabbit hole gets even deeper when the two delinquent girls she was involved with on the subway are the prime suspects in Tae Soo's murder case!

The more we watch, the more glued we are to the screen! With each episode opening up a can of worms, we are intrigued at where this story will take us. We also love that there are clues (that are vague at the moment) pointing to Ha Bin. Sometimes the way she acts seems like she's a killer as well! (We are thrown in all directions!)

Filled with mystery, suspense, and character development, Doubt is this Fall's must-watch crime/thriller! Let us know your thoughts on this amazing new K-drama in the comments below!

Doubt airs every Friday and Saturday on MBC at 21:50 KST.
